CAPTAIN
On a whim pastel rendering.
The first one I made was Uzumaki Naruto from Team 7 when I was in high school. I don't know what happened that day but before I know it the journal I was holding or resting on my lap was no longer there and that includes the rendered Naruto, since I inserted it there.
This time's artwork was scanned and stored.
Monkey D. Luffy
Captain of the Strawhat Pirate
FRUIT BASKET
My very fist decent render using watercolor pencil.
I didn't know how to do it or more like what to do to make it look a bit closer to the picture I referred with. I tried once but to my dismay it was so ugly I couldn't even dare look at it. I was depressed for moment there then recovered eventually and decided not to make it.
Days have past its due date of passing and new activity was given and I was still like making nothing. Then I decided to watch a video tutorial on how to use a colored pencil. I started sketching the second activity that was given and rendered it afterwards. It did not turn out as good as good as this one but I thought to myself that it was passable. (I think)
It lasted for 2-3 days working my ass on the five activities that I should've have passed days ago.

The RED BLACK ME
November 14, 2013, Thursday morning, my mom ask my younger brother to look and buy for some bread if there's any, if ever someone started selling a bread again and he declined it saying that there would be no one who'll sell food such as bread nowadays. Then I volunteered hoping there would be one.
I left the house using our mountain bike. On my way to Marasbaras, Tacloban City, I encountered some obstacles such as flood. A very stinky water that came from rivers through canals and I have no choice but to pass there. When I finally arrived at my destination, I was devastated by the fact that my brother was half right. He was wrong for the fact that there's still a bakery open, right because there is no bread left. Pretty disappointed but my journey hasn't ended yet. I decided to keep going. I moved on to check for my friends and their families if how they're getting through these kind of dilemmas. I was getting near but when I saw that there is no way for me to pass I did not go instead I went to my older brothers house to check for y niece then that was the time I realize that my bike's tire is flat, really flat.
It was hilarious and pathetic but my efforts wasn't wasted because I thought of something that would be a big help when I got home.
From Picas, Sagkahan, Tacloban City, I walk with my bike to Utap. I went there for two reasons; first, to ask my cousin for a spare parts for my dads motorcycle and lastly, for some food to eat. I was hungry. I stuffed some food for my tummy then left. I went to my cousins store for the spare parts that y dad needed and then started walking. And by the way I used the other side of the road because there ain't no flood there.
It was quarter to eleven in the morning, the sun was getting hotter, and I was getting thirstier. All I was praying to God was water for me to drink, even a droplet of it just to conquer my thirst. Then I met a woman who called my name. At first I was confused who this woman is. When she asked me if she could tag along with me, I said, "Sure!". That was the time I ask her, "Do you have some water?" and answered me "Yes!". I was so happy I met her there but when she spoke to and said, "You know what, I was praying to have someone walking along with me then here you are. Thank You Lord!". I was like, maybe we were really destined to meet that time.
The sun is now exactly above our head and the weather is so hot, like you could fry under the sun. A minute later we were smiling because we could already see our hometown.
Yeah! I'm finally home.
My parents scolded me for taking so long and for looking like this.
This wasn't really what I look like when I got home. This was after I took a bath. I was really toasted when I got back. Funny, 'cause the only thing I could see on the mirror was the shirt I was wearing. And now my skin looks lesser brown than this picture.

On
the 7th day of November year 2014 in the afternoon, I went to our
school for my clearance to be cleared then there I met Mano Randy on the lobby
and told me: “Anu dai? Nag-aano ka nganhi? May bagyo. Uli nala ha iyo.” And I
was like: “Oh! Okay. J”
That’s when I realized that the weather was unpleasant. It was so calm, very
calm so it was kind of scary but still I didn't mind.
Someone
opened the television when nightfall came, though I don’t exactly remember who
opened it, while I was in front of our PC surfing whatsoever with my ears
covered by a headphone there I saw a glimpse about the news of the typhoon and
there it says that the wave is on level 9 (7 or 8 meters high) I think if I am not
mistaken and I also heard the word “possibilities” so all in all I didn't
really understand what the weather forecaster was saying but I do know what I
saw if that was for real.
November
8, 2014, about 6 a.m. in the morning I opened my eyes to check if my painting
was still in tacked (quite insensitive about the typhoon though), when I saw it
was still there I decided to go back to sleep but I couldn't so I got up from
my bed and went out to see if the weather is getting more violent. Then my mom came
with me outside, along with my younger brother. My dad wasn't home because
they’re having a seminar in Davao, so the only guy with us is my brother and
bonjing our dog. We were out watching people passing by while they’re battling the
wind with a smile on their faces (ironic). After a few minutes we were unable
to see anything due to the heavy rain so we went back inside.
Just
when the door closed everything went in fierce. We could hear the painful sound
of the wind, the flying roofs, and some broken branches. Then the water was
getting higher, when we open the door again almost everything in front of our
house was gone. We were stuck inside because of the debris that flew to our
side. The electric posts were down and one of it fell on our roof. Everywhere inside
our house was raining, my mom told us to pack our clothes so we’ll still have
some clothes to wear after the typhoon and things that were important like
documents were placed inside a washing machine so it won’t get wet.
I
was already feeling dizzy because of the sound of the wind and because we
haven’t eaten breakfast yet. I found a solution for that though. I took the
headphone, cut its wire and put it on my ears now my problem was the hunger I’m
feeling, so I ate biscuit while hiding on the center part of the house where it
was safer while holding our small crucifix that my brother was holding
previously and praying for the safety of my relatives and friends. And every
time the wind blows hard my mom hugs Iguinaid (Jesus tied in a pillar while
wearing a thorny crown) while shouting, “Agi Lord, Ayaw gad pagduroha.”
When events like
these happens, my brain usually unable to absorb it quickly but I don’t get panic.
I am able to respond through prayers. Prayers to make sure my relatives would
be safe as well as my friends. Although at times like this, I often forgot to
pray for our safety. :3 Well, that’s because I know we will be safe (we were
lucky, we were blessed). It took 5 hours to be able to say that it ‘s now safe.
I thought the
nightmare was over but it only just begun. We heard shocking news from people
passing by. People who were stuck at some place safer. People who were from
their offices. People who were trying to look for an information about their
relatives who lives far away from them. People who were looking for some water
to drink. The things that shocked us was the people who were saying lots of people
died in Astrodome where people assume that the place would be safer because it
was made of concrete tools. A lot of people died at San Jose, at Candahug and
some place in Palo. At first, I wasn't able to believe what they were saying
but every single person who came from that side tells us the same story.
The sky was
getting darker and everywhere you look has no sign of light except for the
light that comes from the cell phones, flashlights and vehicles of every
individual. We went to sleep early as 6 (six) and get up when sun is up.
On Saturday, late that night we heard our gate opened and there my dad came
home. All of them were excused and decided to go home, worried about what is happening. That was when my dad told us a heart breaking story that
along their way, they saw hundreds of deceased body lined-up on the road, from Southern Samar.
The road was
silent that you’ll be able to feel and hear the loneliness of the people who passed
away. The people who shouts and asks for help but unable to do so. People who
still doesn't want to die but did. The silence was deafening and agonizing. I
wasn't scared. That was not what I've felt. What I've felt was guilt. If only
I've paid attention about the news I may be able save some lives. Because I know the wave was very dangerous but I still did not pay attention about it. All I want to say now is I am very SORRY for not sharing my knowledge about it. I am very sorry for acting cool and calm every time events like this happen. I hope you’ll find peace and harmony wherever you are now.

The Line of Attack to ESSAYS.PH
What induces me to join Essays.ph?
Actually, I have no plan of joining or applying at any work now because I’m
still not in the frame of mind or let me say that I am not in my paramount version
of me. But some part of me says that this may be the good start of being better
than the usual. We all have that goodness and righteousness in our soul that
leads us to greatness.
Before essays.ph introduces to my
existence, I’ve been writing already. I‘ve composed some poems, ode and jingles
which I’ve written on my journal. I am not actually a reader, I am an observer.
I am into looking at beautiful, wonderful and fantastic artworks and images
that leads me to writing. But before then, our English major instructor
assigned us individually to read a novel that we do like most and write a summary
report about the book. By the time I’ve finished it (actually I never did) I am
still not convinced that I should’ve read another one in order for me to
improve myself in writing. But when my sister borrowed a novel from a friend, I
find it very interesting. So, I sneak every time my sister leaves the house to
work as a public servant just to read the book. I’ve finished it within 24
hours. Yes! It was an achievement for me because I can’t even finished reading twenty
pages a day and that was the start of me reading again. It is true that you can
never write unless you’ve learned how to read and understand what you were
reading. These all make sense now. Seriously, without that book I think I still
be as stupid as I was in primary year. Having no idea of what higher years were
talking about.
I was the one who encourages me
to enter the world of writers at Essays.ph. It would be a great experience mingling
with professionals and as well as to striving to be professional. I’ll learn
new ways to achieve my dream, new ideas to enhance my capacity to write, I’ll
be able to earn new knowledge and be more educated. In reality, they help us do
these in order to be better.
It is not always our teachers or
parents who taught us how to write but it is us who taught ourselves.
Experiences and the wisdom are the once leading us to write everything that we’ve
gone through, every words that we can’t utter, and words that we cannot express
verbally to someone we do like or treasure.
Once you’ve written something it
is always about what you’ve read or what you’ve seen and also about what you’ve
felt. They let us write about something that we might have read and share to
them some knowledge that we had learned and they were the one who’ll spread the
wisdom that writer’s had written.
And by the power of eagerness to
earn some penny, I learned something, which I should be grateful of whatever I
have in me; and it is to share what the creator had given me, the pure talent
of writing. And that leads me to Essays.ph.
